The Novus T1200XE Power Management Module (PMM) is a purpose-built replacement power management solution designed specifically for the Toshiba T1200XE laptop.
This is the Lite version that does not take any battery management into account. This is perfect if your original battery is no longer working.
The module restores reliable, modernized power delivery to the T1200XE. As original power circuitry in these machines becomes unreliable or fails over time, the Novus T1200XE PMM provides a clean, dependable alternative – allowing enthusiasts, collectors, and technicians to keep these classic systems running with confidence.

User Responsibility
The Novus T1200XE PMM comes fully assembled with all components except for the 40-Pin connector between the module and the laptop. It’s the user’s responsibility to transfer this connector from the original power module to the Novus T1200XE PMM.
Important Note
The Novus T1200XE PMM is not an upgrade or modification platform—it is a functional replacement* for the original power management system. Its purpose is to restore proper operation, not to alter or enhance the original system capabilities.
Lithium battery management is not supported. *The Pro version will handle Ni-MH battery management. This version is in development.
FAQ
Why is the board missing components?
The Lite version of the Novus board does not contain any battery management components, and that’s why the board looks less-populated.
Why does the board say "Prototype-X"?
While the functionality of the Lite version is proven to be stable, the Pro version is still in development, and these versions use the same PCB layout. The Pro version adds to the existing circuitry and in the end- reduces the cost to the customer if they don’t require battery management.
Why wouldn't I want battery management?
The original batteries in these old laptops have almost certianly degraded to a point of no return. Only rebuilding will remedy the issue and batteries can be expensive. Some people may not want to bother with battery rebuilds. The Pro version circuitry can always be added later as the BoM will be available on GitHub. (Hot-air soldering is a requirement for a user upgrade)
